Default I've been invaded

My wife offered to continue to help my older sister out to help get rid of her stuff that did sell at the estate sale a few weeks while I was away last week. Little did she know that my nieces and nephews would dump it at our house and walk away. What a bunch of flakes on that side of my family. She has been apoligizes all weekend to me and I told her this was not her fault. They have rob from there mother and have left her broke. So we will be having a sale this next weekend, and I have to be out of town again. I called in some reserves to help her out. What doesn't sell, it gone to Goodwill. Kinda hard to work on the Chevelle right now.

What a mess.

Ray, it looks like your couldn't get the Chevelle out without many hours of moving things. It is amazing how well you are taking this. I am sure that you are screaming inside, but what can you do ? Just make sure when you do the goodwill thing, you get a receipt so you can use it on your taxes next year. At least some consolation for all your hard work.

Wow! Family, don't know what to say. You don't get to choose them, sometimes they're your best friends and sometimes they'll take advantage of you anytime they can. Good luck Ray.

Thanks everyone, You should see my living room also. I hope this sale goes good this weekend. My nieces and nephews had the guts to tell us how to price it so their mom could get the most for it. I got news for them it's going to be priced at clearance prices and not at retail like they want it to be. I ready to get a court appointed trustee to take over for my sister since see can't seem to manage her own affairs. She has let her kids rob her of about $150k over the last year. Time to get some help for her. I don't want to get in the middle of this mess.

Unfortunately with your situation, you are going to make them mad at you if you get a lawyer. But you need to protect your sister. If they take everything she has, how will she be taken care of, there won't be any money left.

And if your nieces and nephews wanted these items priced at an outrageous price, then they should have been the ones who are selling them, and storing them.

If I had my way I would file charges against two of them. My niece is the Power of Attorney and has abused that power to buy things for herself. I have been a trustee for two estates and have held that position with respect and honor. I have documents to back up every thing I did, so I could be held accountable to the families. No documentation has been kept and my sister doesn't want to deal with anything. I don't care if I make them mad, I don't like thieves family or not.

I recently had to see my so called real family due to a death and it was the most troublesome time for me .I could not get away from them fast enough and dont look forward to the next time . I truly love my car family (you guys ) but could do without them (real family) for all they are worth. This is a hard statement to make but they abandoned me about 15 years ago and I no longer want or need anything to do with them.
