Default Grumpy finally got to ride in my car.

Last night grumpy and I decided that we were going to head out in the Chevelle. So we headed out to the east side to a car show at a bar called Dooley's. This was really the first time that we had seriously driven the car since we got back from Tennessee. This was also the first time that grumpy had really been in the car for any period of time, since the new trans, with the overdrive, was installed.

We headed out for the 25 minute drive on the e-way. I pulled out onto the main street and gave it a little gas, and she shifted smoother than before. We still have not put 150 miles on the trans, and it needs to be driven. We cruised at 70 on the e-way @ 2,300-2,400 rpm. It did not even seem to be working the motor, she was still ready to go. I really had to watch the pedal cause I went to pass someone and the next thing you know I am doing 85 mph.

Pulled into the parking lot of the show, parked and proceeded to talk to a lot of the guys who walked over. Not many Chevelles at this show, but the ones that were there were older than mine and very nice. I was not a show winner, but part of enjoying going to the car shows is getting the name of our site out there. And I do my best to do that.

So grumpy and I had a good time and even made a go-round on Woodward Ave. on the way home, a few cars out there. The one thing that we definitely need to do is to turn the idle down (had to adjust it when we were in TN). One more stop before we got home/ I stopped at the local drive-in A&W and got grumpy a shake. Next weekend, I think we will try to do Baker's in Milford.

Hope everyone was able to enjoy time with their car this weekend. I look forward to hearing your stories.

I haven't drove the '67 since it came off the trailer returning from Nashville.
And I sold the '69SS this past week...it heads to southern Cali sometime this week.

Nice to know that I was not the only one who hadn't been out since TN. I will say that one thing that I neglected to put in the story was that I had taken the kids to the movies, and while I was gone, grumpy washed my car, another thing that had not been done since TN. I felt so guilty about not washing it, but I have been so busy. Anyway the only thing that we had to do was to use a little finishing spray and we were good to go.

Thank you grumpy....

Man I have only been to one cruise night this year and 4 car shows. I yet to go out to Woodward on a Friday or Saturday night. Ms. Grumpy dont feel bad I only washed my Chevelle once this year and that was before I had the car in Greenfield Village.

I haven't had the Chevelle out much this year. We did take it to run a few errands on Saturday then to Baker's on Sunday. Next trip is to the gas station, I think we may have drifted into the garage on fumes. Wasn't in the mood to go to the gas station on the way home, good thing because prices have dropped a lot this week.

I've been driving the 68 alot lately. Mainly trying to get to the bottom of my squeaking problem. I took it to a local car show on Sunday but didn't enter. 2300-2400 at 70? I definitely need to get an overdrive! I'm at about 3000-3100 at 70. I bet you'll definitely get some range out of her now.

Not sure if my speedo is exact but i'm running 3.73 auburn posi with TH400 with 2400-2800 stall. so probably pretty close to yours. I should hook up the GPS and check for sure. I'm running 295/50r15s.
