Default ASPCA commercials on TV

They are running some Holiday commercials about all the poor dogs and cats that are going to be put down if they don't find a home. Man, it just tears me up to see the sad looks on the faces of those animals. I wish that I could save them all. I feel so bad for them.

I wish all people were like Grandsport and take good care of their animal family members .We dont have any pets anymore but the commercials are heartbreaking .I work with a guy that has way too many cats and he says he cant afford to have them fixed so they keep having more and more and he brags about hauling them off and dumping them for someone else to have to deal with. A very cruel and stupid practice to say the least and he see's nothing wrong with this practice. He is a big part of a very big problem .

When I was little our family always had a dog. Until I was about 7 and my dad found my beagle bound with a belt and dead.

Now, we only have fish and a turtle. Sure we would love to have a dog, but I don't have a fence in my yard and I have a small house. I don't feel this would be fair to an animal. But I see people everyday that live in a house like mine and chain their big dogs to a tree. Just not right.

Joan and I raised weiner muts for the last 18 years and I raised them for many years before we were married and this is the first time in my life that I dont have a pet .We miss our dogs terribly but as much as we travel in the spring and summer we decided it was not fair to have a dog kept in a kennel waiting for us all the time and depending on others to take care of them for us .

As far as my co-worker I hope he gets what he deserves one day .I have even told him about places that will do free or discounted spaying but he is not interested .People like him dont deserve to have pets of any kind .

I hate seeing some of those commercials that show abused animals, makes you want to kill someone. Don't forget this link.

The negative about those commercials is they (ASPCA?) are hitting people up for donations at a time, christmas, when they are most benevolent .... but the real sad part is NONE of that money filters down to the local level. The public thinks they have helped their own shelters and programs, which is not true.

Alot of local-level animal groups have brought this up and the national ads just keep on running.

... but I like to think of Sarah as my future ex-wife ... she is a babe!
