I thought about bringing the truck down but last time it ran hot in heavy traffic and it still likes to get hot at idle and slow traffic even with the new radiator and clutch fan .Im going to try some different ideas today.

There's no way that truck should be running hot!!! We need to look at it...

Where is the base timing set? Did you drill holes in the thermostat? Just thinking out loud...

I didnt set the timing but it should be right ,tell me about drilling the thermostat .

Did Mr.Bill purchase a pre owned big block Chevy motor with all date coded correct parts for his Chevy station wagon?

He did and has it in the car and running. Not sure I have seen any pictures with it in there yet?
