Default Mega Millions $540 Million Dollar Jackpot

This is becoming so crazy. Yesterday when I first heard that the Jackpot had rolled over from Tuesday night, they estimated the Jackpot to be $470 million, this was at 10am. By 4pm it grew to an estimated $500 million. Now today it is at $540 million. I bet this thing grows to more than $600 million before the drawing.

I suppose the fact that you can play the Mega Millions game in 42 states + the District of Columbia and the U.S Virgin Islands, makes it not so unbelievable that it would grow this large.

Like everyone else, I would love to win. But what are the odds ? I probably have a better chance of getting hit by lightening. Even with those odds. I still have my fingers crossed. And I wish everyone else who has played, the best of luck.

So did you buy tickets ? If so how many ? And if you were to win. What would you do with all that money ?

I will start. So far I think that I have $28 in tickets. I have some easy picks and some I picked myself.

If I won, first I would contact a lawyer/accountant. I would get my family together and figure out how we are going to split the winnings, and take the payout over the next 20 years. I would let him, who by the way is a trusted friend for over 8 years, figure out how we need to invest. In the meantime I would rent a plane for my whole family and take them to Disney and have a blast.

I would definately find a house and build a garage that could house A LOT of cars. I would get the best trailer, a new Chevy to pull the trailer.

I only buy a few tickets (usually 3) ,if I was to win I would hire a lawyer and accountant to manage it and also to help me spend it. My first donation would be to the Goshen Valley Boys Ranch to buy anything they needed .We would then focus on a few other charities we are involved with to see what they needed .I would then buy me another 72 chevy truck to drive until mine comes home and then give the spare one away. I dont know what I would do with the rest as I pretty much have what I want.

When I buy a ticket, I figure all I'm really doing is buying a "dream" for a couple days... I can dream just as much whether I buy one losing ticket, or 100 losing tickets.

I've never played Mega Millions, but I have played Powerball a few times.

I'd buy a hell of a lot of land, and pave about 50 acres.

I'm going to pick up a bunch of tickets today. Let's hope I'm lucky.

my sister in law, wife and i bought 10 tickets. we figured if we all chip in it would be ok for us to try. because we know if one of us would win we would help our family out. the first thing i would do is pay off my parents debt, house and what ever bills they have and then send them to where ever they want for how ever long they want. i would do the same for my in laws (even tho my mother in law pisses me off!!) then i would donate to my school (corupt catholic schools) by finding out what they needed and make sure i buy it for them. after that i would buy the things at my current job (under funded HS) new computers and tablet computers for digital books. then i would open up a trust fund for my daughter and then for my future kids. then open up some clubs around here for kids under 21 so they have something to do, since we have nothing for kids to do besides drugs then pay off my house and build my chevelle the way i want then open up some kind of racing scene auto cross and drag and drifting so we can keep the streets safer! those are my dreams but we shall see!

For many years David and I have been involved with the organization Volunteers of America (VOA). VOA donates the largest percentage of donations to people who need it. I know that we would make a huge donation to them.

The community that we live in is small and has always been a wonderful place to live. I would donate to the police and fire department to make sure that every one of their jobs was secure. The schools have laid off teachers, so there will be a donation to them also.

I agree with Shaun, there needs to be some type of program/place for kids to go. Especially with todays computer kids, they need a place to have fun and for some physical activity.

And most of all I agree with flash, I hope that the person/persons that win do something good with the money.
