Default Downsizing My Collection

Those of you who know me will be amused by this Im sure as you know I have been trying to sell my 55 Bel Air to downsize my collection by one .And you also probably know Im knee deep in a frame off restomodication of my 72 Chevy truck and the last thing in the world I needed was another project ,but guess what. I bought another truck today that is a one owner 74 Chevy Stepside with 56,000 one owner original miles ,it has been sitting in a barn for as long as I can remember .It wont be sitting there much longer when I find someone local with a ramp truck to go get her for me. It will not be coming home with me though ,it is going to the bodyshop doing my other truck until I can get it running. You think I should warn the bodyshop guys that its coming or just surprise them with it.

Isn't buying another vehicle increasing the size of your collection?

It seems so but I could not help myself ,besides its Joan's fault .As we were headed for the door to go look at the truck she asked if I was taking the checkbook with me and I said no and she said that I should if it was priced cheap enough. She even went and got the checkbook and gave it to me and it was CHEAP ENOUGH.

Congrats Flash, So what body work needs to be done. Sounds like getting running would be first.

Bill ,I hired a ramp truck for $75 bucks and he earned every penny .It was quite a chore dragging that thing out from all the junk it was tangled up in.

Ray ,its actually pretty solid except for the bed at the front where the wood ends ,its pretty bad there. The passenger front fender has the normal rust in the lower cup and the passenger door skin has a small spot in the lower corner .The cab including the rocker panels is rust free .My first goal is to get it running ,possibly tomorrow and then take the wheels and tires off my 72 frame and put on the new old truck. Then it will just be to replace belts and hoses ,change oil ,check brakes and make it safe to drive .Then it will be power washed and driven if all goes well. This one is probably going to be left a surviver as the paint looks OK to me.

She also likes my new old truck ,cant wait to take her for a ride in it. The only thing she doesnt like is that she cant drive it as she dont drive a standard trans but now I can teach the boys how to drive it, they cant drive a stick either yet .The boys are currently in Illinois so they dont know about the truck yet.
