Default Good News About My Truck

No not that one ,my new old 74 Chevy stepside ,it runs and drives as of today. I called the bodyshop and asked if I could play after they closed for the day and of course they said yes. I turned the engine over by hand so I knew it was'nt stuck. I sprayed some slipery stuff into the sparkplug holes and let it soak while I added a fresh new battery and some gas .I primed the little carb and spun her over and she fired right up and ran like a little 6 cylinder sewing machine .Then one of the guys came by to see if I needed anything as I was working out back and he opened up the back bay door to let me use their air tools to switch out the 4 flat tires ,then I had to take her for a spin. Not a bad day for a $600 truck.

I was offered double my money before I even got it running. Now I want triple the money ,NOT. My downsizing gig just aint working out real well but what the heck ,I may just have to build another garage instead and then I could find me some more .

Here are the pics of flash's "new" truck that his beautiful wife, Joan, e-mailed me.

flash will have to give you some commentary on all the photos.

The first two pics was when she was still buried in the barn with all kinds of junk. I took a gamble as I could not tell what it looked like as I could not get in there amonst all of it.

the original owners son posing with the truck,

some of the paper work in the glove box

speedo with 56,493 miles

More pics.....

just before I switched the wheels and tires off my 72 truck frame

just before I took her on her first short drive in over 20 years. I just got back from the parts store with all kinds of tune up and oil change goodies for monday and she goes for a new exhaust system tuesday and then she should be ready to come home.

Looks like you can bend that lower door corner in, looks like a sold truck. Nice find. Nothing that a little elbow grease won't polish out on it. Look almost good as new.
