The wife and I have been on a diet for about a year and I know what you mean with the weight not wanting to come off anymore. Heck, when I was younger it was easy to lose weight but when I hit 45 a few years ago it's like an act of god. I'm not bad and I go to the gym and drag my wife with me three times a week. I'm a little over 6'3" and this morning my weight was 213.8; I should be around 200 so it could be worse. I won’t mention what my wife weight is because she would kill me if she ever found out I posted it on the web.

So has anybody made the attempt to start a weight reduction program of any sorts for their lives?
I myself since last monday have lost about 12 pounds. I will be very happy when I get under 200 pounds again. I work out every single day again now that the doctors have said to go ahead with weight training again and it feels so good to get back at it. I can tell in that 8 months or so of recupperation I lost a whole lot of my physical conditioning. The amount of weight I curl and press is far less than where I was at, but I will work my way back up again, not a big deal. I just need to make sure I stick with the correct diet and keep working out and I hope by March 1st area to be down around 190 pounds, which will be nearly 30 pounds (29) lost in about 5 weeks. I've done it before and I can do it again. My overall goal is to get back under 10% body fat again, preferably around 8% would be great. Jeff

I started last May and have lost 38 lbs.
I simply started walking and I cut back on my portions. I still need to drop about another 40-50. I will admit I have been hovering for about the past 3 months as I have not been walking as much (it's cold out) and I ate more during the holidays. I figure once it warms back up I should drop fairly quickly again. |

Very well so far, thank you. I am currently down about 30 pounds from my starting weight, actually 29 to be accurate. I run and bike or both every single day, and lift weights every other day as well. My biggest challenge i had to overcome was forcing myself to eat enough calories. With the level of excercise I do, I need about 3400 calories a day to have a 750 calorie a day deficit roughly. I am not a big eater, so for me 3400 calories a day is a ton of food. Once I got my diet plan worked out, the weight pretty much just falls off. Its strange that I have to eat more to weigh less, but thats how it works.
I am hoping to hit about 180 pounds by the end of May or so, then I am going to go back on a gainer diet and pack on more muscle again. I have lost about 14% body fat or so according to my body calipers, and would like to drop another 4-5%. I do know I have lost some muscle size with it from eating too few calories at the begininng, but I can get that back after I am done cutting. Is anyone else still doing this? Jeff
