Default Car show today

I've never won anything at a car show before, except for door prizes. I don't go to them as a competitor, but I enter the judged part of the show usually, and spend a while detailing my car for most of the shows I go to.

There is one show a few miles from my house every year, and it was today. It was a nice day, overcast this morning, but around 11, it cleared up and was about 85 and breezy. Nice day.

I spent a good while touching up and detailng, etc to go to this thing today. I guess it was my first show for this year, and since I built the engine back up. They make you enter by class at this one. They had separate classes for 'vettes, camaros, mustangs, t-birds, firebirds, etc. Everyone else had to enter into classes like 60-69, 70-79, etc, and in either the "stock" or "modified" class. I entered 70-79 stock. I wasn't sure which to pick.

Anyways, I got second place. Never got a trophy before today!!!

A few pics...

I was tickled to win, my buddy that has a '73 Mach 1 told me I had the biggest $hit-eating grin he's ever seen when they called my number. Oh, and first place in my class went to a cranberry red/black stripe 1970 LS5 454SS, original owner car.

For me, since I did this work myself, it really was cool.

Congrats on your win. I plan to enter my car in a few shows, but I'm just going to have fun. If it better going to expecting not to win and if you come home with something its just a bonus. Again congrats.

Congratulations Jake !!

It sounds like you went to the car show to enjoy yourself and see some friends and nice cars, not expecting to win. You are one of the people that deserve to win. You did not go in with the expectation to win, just to have a great time and show people your car, which by the way is sweet. I hate it when someone comes in with a car that "always" wins.

Congrats again,
Nancy

Your in a different class so we won't be competing against each other.

Again congrats Jake you have a nice looking car.

Congrats Jake. You did all that hard work on your car and others obviously think you did a good job.
