All summer long they run on Woodward. It is still early enough that the cops are not running people out of the lots along Woodward. The best places, or at least the busiest places are about 13 1/2 mile. There is a gas station that fill the lot up and the lot next to it. Also there is a small strip mall just south of Normandy that fills up quickly too. Grumpy and I like to find a place away from the crowds so that we can enjoy the cars. Usually just south of 14 mile. Royal Oak cops seem to be bad, but you definately don't want to park anywhere is Berkley. Lt. North does not like the cruisers sitting on the side of the road. People are out in their lawn chairs as early as 4 pm almost everyday from now till the Dream Cruise.

Actually to week leading up to the Dream Cruise is better than the Dream Cruise itself. Everynight starting the weekend before the cruise, is full of cars. The Friday night before the Dream Cruise is one of our favorites. The city of Berkley holds a car parade, usually it has 200-300 cars. Berkley closes down the main street for 2 miles and people bring out chairs and line the street. People line up their "classics" in a large local cemetery, which is beautiful. The cemetery is on the corner of Woodward and 12 mile, and when the parade starts we just flow right out onto 12 mile. After the parade all the classics are allowed to line 12 mile and park so that people can come and check out your car. They have alot of activities for the family and it goes til about midnight.
I was able to get my Chevelle and Grumpy's Jeep back into the parade this year. I am so excited.
