Process of storing car for winter

I got all yinz guys beat. Back in the pre-Lindsay era,when I had money I just sold the damn car and bought another in the spring.

Yea, back in the days when I had money... oh wait, I never had money. Never mind.

My normal list would be,
1. Park Chevelle in my heated garage.
2. Unhook batt.
3. Put cover on car.
4. Wait till spring.
Last years list included the 1st 4, but in the spring....
5. Pull front clip.
6.Pull engine
7. Rebuild front end
8. paint everything under the hood.
9.(Middle of the summer now) rebuild top half of engine
10. (Labor Day) take the day off from working on Chevelle.
11. Put Chevelle back together
12 Go to first cruisin (last one for the season)
13. Back to number 1. and restart the process.

Dang .... am I the only one that sets a mousetrap on the center console .... just in case???

I just back mine in the shop until the next time I want to go for a drive .I do have a few things that have to be repaired this winter .Touch up some rock chips and have the windshield replaced are the main projects .I will start my projects in January after the Christmas parade in Tenn with the top down .

took the front clip off 2 weeks ago, and will pull the engine tomorrow.

1-Tarp the garage floor
2- Put car on jack stands
3- Check and top off all fluids
4- Add half mixture of marine stabil and marvil mystery oil in the tank. (A friend of mine did lab tests and found using marine stabil and marvil mystery oil in every tank full helps older car motors run better and not wear down due to all the nitrogen and other cleaners in new gas these days)
5-Disconnect battery
6- Apply a coat of wax or chrome polish on all exterior trim parts
7- Place dryer sheets in the interior,trunk and engine bay.
8- Cover car with soft car cover then place an all weather cover on top
9- Close up garage

I might start it once a month only if the weather is really nice and somewhat warm
