We have a no-kill shelter about 20 miles from our place. We go out there and walk the dogs for them. They have a 10 acre field that has some paths cut through it. My wife has been making coats for the dogs. She sews them all on her machine, buys the material, and delievers them. We take a couple of bags of food to them twice a month. Makes the dogs happy. Sometimes, I go out there and just go in the pens and just "talk" to the dogs. It is heartwarming to see how excited the dogs get when we pull in the yard. I have taken to making friends with the dogs that have been abused so bad that they want nothing to do with humans. I've made some good friends that way.

I used to deal with a Dachund breeder that would get dogs back from people he sold them to due to the dogs being too agressive according to the breeder. He said in reality what was happening was the dogs were being abused and biting and growling due to kids hurting them. He knew me and Joan were suckers when it came to animals and he gave us several of those dogs to rehab for him. We took many a broken dog and taught them to trust people again and those were the best and most loyal dogs Ive ever owned .Yes ,we adopted every one of those abused dogs and that breeder was a good friend we trust .
