If I didnt need new daily transportation soon I might have took that offer but from what Im learning the old truck is a pretty rare surviver as 73 and 74 were some of the worst years for Chevy trucks due to rusting to pieces .This truck is going to replace my 96 Ford Explorer with 190,000 plus miles on it as it wont pass emissions anymore and needs shocks ,tires and brakes which would all cost more that its worth.I can drive my old truck and fix it up a little as I go and it will gain some value.Even if I doubled my money I cant get anything any better than this truck for $1200 ,around here you cant find any decent used cars cheap .

Try living in "Michigan Gold" territory. Most used vehicles have so much rust from the salt on the road, that they are not worth the time or money. The reason your used cars are pricey is cause you have people coming from the north to purchase cars.

I got to drive my new old truck home from the muffler shop today after work ,it runs and drives great .Im going to try this downsizing thing again with my 96 Ford Explorer and see if someone will take it home with them. I priced it at $1400 with the expectation to get $1000 and if that dont work she will be driven across the scrap metal scales .She has been good for 190,000 trouble free miles and has ice cold A/C so maybe someone needs basic cheap transportation ,this is the last one to be purchased new by us .

You should be able to find someone who would pay what you are asking for your truck.

The 96 Explorer found a new home before I could even get the For Sale signs put on her. She went to a needy young couple with 2 cute little girls ,they were waiting for me when I got home from work today .It was kind of hard to watch it drive away but they will enjoy it.

Good to hear. For a minute I thought about buying it to use as a parts runner.

Good to hear it went to someone in need

So hard did they know about it if you didn't even get the sign on it. By the way, did you get your asking price ?

I got what I wanted out of it ,$1000 cash. One of my co workers asked me yesterday if I knew of a cheap car for sale and I told her the Explorer would be for sale soon and she asked if her dad could come see it .I told her he could and I kind of forgot that I left it at work as I caught a ride with another co worker to go pick up my truck at the muffler shop.I called him and told him I had a brain fart but would go get it. He liked it and brought his grandaughter and her husband to see it while I was on my way home from work .I had left the key stashed in front of my shop for them so they could test drive it and when I got home they took it with them. I priced it to move but did not expect it to go so soon. Joan and I cleaned it last night in prep for putting the signs on and parking it at our driveway .

Good to hear you sold it. I have a 99 mustang that my wife been driving and we have decided to sell it and get her a newer car. I'm probably only going to ask $1500 for it so maybe I will get lucky and sell it fast also. It's got over 150 k on it.
