So if you got the El Camino running would you take that to the NOCC show ? Or would the vert get jealous ?

We used to take the Elky to the Ohio show before we had the vert but you never know . The Elky is pretty much our winter cruiser which is why I want the heat fixed. I actually replaced the heater hoses today after work and poured the stop leak into the heater core thru one of the hoses and then hooked everything up .So far it is not leaking with it running at idle for 30 minutes with the pressure of the cap. Im going to be driving it a bit to see how it does longterm.

Not quite the direction I had originally planned or even imagined but I bought a complete LQ4 (iron block w/aluminum heads) 6.0L engine out of a Silverado HD with 75K miles on it this morning.
So...Looks like the Sprint will be getting some 21st century updates this winter.

That'll be an awesome upgrade. Are you planning on keeping the Fuel Injection or gonna run Carb? Which transmission are you going to use?

Not sure yet on if it'll be carbed or FI.
The 6.0L comes complete including the harness & ECM but I also already have on hand an MSD LS 6010 ignition box and Edelbrock intake.
With the original 12 bolt rearend having only a 2.73 gear...I'll be reusing the console shifted TH350 presently in the car. Simply will need to space out the LQ4 flexplate using one of many available kits.

I love the LS motors and i have had an LS motor for at least 7 years now. But as of late i am starting to like the BBC over it..lol I had an lq9 i was going to put in my chevelle with a carb setup but i went big block. i currently have an lq4 in my rx7 with no issues and running pretty powerful good luck with the swap. o btw before you try to fire up your 6.0 you have the have the VATS turned off or it will just die on you learned it from experience

OK, I do have some small plans now that I have thought about it. I am going to pick up a trunk pan and try to find a flat hood for the 69'. My best shot for both should be at the big car show/swap meet in Daytona next month.

I was originally planning on putting the car in storage since right now it's in my wife's spot in the garage. Now I'm hoping to get "my" side cleaned out so I can keep it and work on it. Between starting our new house last week and the baby girl coming in 12 days I haven't had enough time to work on it. Got the new rear brake lines this week so I'm hoping to get the brakes working by next weekend. We'll see.
