70 Nova. I found one with the front end smashed heading to the bone yard paid $50 and found another a couple of weeks later with the rear smashed also heading to the yard paid $50 for that one. Me, my dad and uncle spent a whole Saturday taking the front half and mating to the back half to make one whole unsmashed Nova. My best friend at the time worked at his dads tire store. He got me set of Cragas S/S's with tire for $100 (used). So for around a $300 car it looked pretty cool. The only down side is it had a straight six with a glide. but man it sure looked cool. I drove that car eveywhere for three years. I ended up selling it for $300. The funny part about this is I have a 16 year old daughter that heard this story and she would like to do the same thing. I don't think I will be able to find two Novas for a $100.

Mine was a 56 Chevy.
It belonged to my neighbor and had sat in his barn for a number of years. It had 43,000 miles and had a 265 v8 and powerglide trans.
It was robin egg blue and white.

I was 14 when I bought it, 3 months before I got my DL. That was in 1975.
I piddled with it and was driving it but smelled old and didn't go as fast as I wanted so I traded it for a 68 Camaro.
