Well it's official. Had my exit interview/meeting yesterday. That started the 2 week notice period so I get full pay for the next 2 weeks. Then I'll get 26 weeks severance pay. Have to file for unemployment since the severance pay is reduced by the amount of unemployment. Anyway, that will take us through the first week of November. That's not too bad, I'll have full pay for the year except the last 7 or 8 weeks, only unemployment for them.

Spring is here, I get to enjoy the summer and the Chevelle. Maybe take the motorhome to a few places in MI so it won't cost a fortune in gas.

It feels strange, I'm not sure how or what I'm supposed to be feeling. Oh well, I'll figure it out eventually.

Wow. Sorry to hear that you were let go, but basically 38 years at the same job is really great imo. You could get a job really close to home for less money and the extra you save in gas could offset things till November as well. Unemployment up here in Pa. is over $550 a week for dam near 2 years! Factor in no gas for work and thats not bad. Only drawback is any healthcare you may have had. My dad lives near Spring Hill and as a retired millworker makes nice money doing odd jobs for elderly a couple hours a day.
