Well if I can ever get the part or the carb I've ordered maybe I'll get this boat running. Trying get anything online, talk to to a person, do just about anything right now is a nightmare.
mestorod70, send me some of them 308's. Actually I have plenty of ammo and I do want to shoot something right now. Nothing is going right. |

Got the rear axle swapped in the GMC and started on the driver's side rocker/cab corner.

Got the throttle control rebuilt and working. Finally got a working carb from another company. Set the timing and adjusted the carb. Starts right up and runs good. Parts are on order to pull the outdrive and replace the bellows. Other than some more cleaning, waxing on the outside that's it for now.

Got the outer rocker tacked in on the GMC today, the heat & humidity was horrible. I never want to do this again, huge PITA. plus it is keeping me from working on my cars.

I finished putting the 5.3L together for my fathers 63 Chevy II convertible. Cam change, and an F Body oil pan swap, along with new gaskets. I put a very mild "truck" cam in it that requires no valve spring or pushrod upgrade. It will run great in that light car.

Pulled outdrive and bell housing on boat and replaced the bellows. Finally got shift and throttle cables adjusted so it shifts smoothly. Waiting for a linear actuator, lifts the sun deck over the engine. Also waiting for a trim switch. It will lower the outdrive but not raise it. I can use the trailer trim button to raise it for now. Wheeled out the sides and polished them, looks great now. The black sides were really oxidized, looked more like gray than black. Sanded and oiled all the teak. Cleaned vinyl interior, etc. I didn't do all the cleaning and polishing, that was a family effort. We're pulling the cover off later and putting it in the water. Wish me luck. I'll replace the distributor cap, rotor and wires later. Right now it runs pretty decent.
I'll take a few pictures once the cover is off. Can't believe how good it looks being it's 34 years old. |

Well all's good so far, once we got it in the water. Five adults and a smaller child, jumped right up on plane. It's not a light boat either, around 2,800 lbs. Ran great, better than expected.
