The big problem here with snow is nobody knows how to drive in it ,if youre going keep moving keeping a safe distance between you and whats ahead of you. But here everyone wants to be on each others bumper and when one stops everyone stops and when facing uphill nobody can go .Hwy 140 was a very long parking lot with nobody moving ,we pushed people up the hill until we wore out .I finally was able to turn my truck around and get it to a side road and left it ,walking the rest of the way home .Hopefully some of this thaws out with help from the GDOT spreading salt and gravel and I can get my truck tomorrow .

John, they don't know how to drive in the snow here either. It snows here every year but still they don't know how to drive in it. Took our son 3 hours to get to work the other day and numerous days of 2 hour or more trips.

People are either overly cautious, won't go faster than 20 MPH which just bunches up traffic. Or they drive too fast and too close. Glad I no longer have to drive in that everyday.

Have you seen the local news?? The Interstate roads thru/around Atlanta are closed...a virtual parking lot!!
15 degrees here right now and they say today's high will be 31 around 2pm.
You may have to wait until tomorrow to get your truck...no need for it today anyhow.
Be safe.

Just heard there are school buses stuck on the roads since yesterday afternoon...WITH kids!!
Spent the night on the bus. Reports of having the National Guard activated to rescue them.
Also news reports a list of Home Depot stores throughout the area that stayed open during all this to provide shelter.

Some Kroger stores also closed but let stranded motorists come inside to stay warm .My 2 nephews took me over to my truck to get a few things out but the roads areactually worse than yesterday ,solid ice .They are bus mechanics and have been called in to try to get some of those buses off the roads .There are cars and trucks left everywhere on Ga 140 as well as the road I live on ,its a mess .
