I agree with Ray. Build it the way you want. From my experience you will be so much happier. No matter what you do there will be people who will question the fact that you did not build a number matching, original car. So what, you are the one who will be driving it. What do you want to do with it, do you want it to be fast ? Do you want it to be a daily driver ? Do you want it to be a full blown drag car ? Whatever you want to do with your car will determine the path you take.
