CS130 Alternator Conversion
Hey;
I'm new to this forum. I "Repurchased" my old '72 Chevelle just recently. It was "suppose" to have been "almost" restored & in great running condition. NOT !!! The alternator died within the week. I have a CS-130 Alt. I'd like to retro-fit. ** My only problem is the Upper Bracket. I'd like to keep it on the original/shotgun side. The upper alt mounting hole is at the 10/11 o'clock position as opposed to the OEM 12/6 position. I know someone has done this before. Any Help would be appreciated. Thnx |
You're saying the mounting holes are at 10/11 or the upper hole is somewhere around 10 or 11? Some CS130s have 12/6, some have 2/6. There may be other configurations.
If your upper hole is at 10, looking from the other side would be 2. That will work on a driver's side mount but not on the passenger side unless you fab up a new upper bracket. Worst case you buy a new one with 12/6 mounts and use yours as a core. |
Yes
The Upper mounting hole is at 10 or 2 depending on how you look at it. And Figured out my mounting problem. I saw a picture of Marsh Alternator Brackets on Summit. It uses a Turnbuckle & an offset bracket That I made. Went to True Value and came up with my own. Will be putting it all together this weekend. Later |
Great, glad you got it sorted out.
