I have a 72 Malibu with oversized tires on rear. It has air shocks but I don't like relying on them for the 2" raise I need. To much load in the wrong places and I think springs would be safer and better ride. The only springs I can find on line is original and lowered. Are there any springs that would work, station wagon etc? Has anyone used the fixed or adjustable spacers that are installed under the springs?

I have a set of the aluminum 1" spacers in mine. They work fine. I don't know how good the 2" ones would be. I would think they would work.
For a heavier spring, give the guys at Detroit Eaton Spring a call. They can make a set for you and they are pretty good to deal with. Plus, there stuff is American made. |

baffle...Tony is a pretty smart guy. Good luck, let us know how things work out. I have a 72 and would definitely be interested in what you find.

Do these spacers stiffen the ride any ? My Camino rides good just too low in the rear to suit me.

I didn't notice and difference in the ride quality when I installed them. A little bit of wheel hop though. Very minor.

I have a set in my Chevelle, think I'll remove them and see if it get's rid of the wheel hop. Raising the rear changes the angle of the upper control arms. When the control arms are higher at the frame mount than the axle mount you have a good chance of wheel hop.

Not sure if those are the same spacers that I used before the restore. I know that we had problems with the ones we had coming loose. But I do remember having the wheel hop like Tony mentioned.
