Default I am so glad it is over.

I don't know about you guys, but I am so glad Christmas is over.

The kids are old enough to know that Santa Claus is for the little ones (couldn't say he wasn't real cause I don't want to spoil it for anyone here). So the kids get one or two bigger presents. This year I shopped like crazy for the VOA adopt families for Christmas on AK. And I ordered Laurens Nook Color online, and went to a Game Stop and bought Jacob and Leah an X-Box 360 with Kinex and one game. A few other presents under the tree and the kids were happy. They got what they wanted and we actually spent less on our kids than we did when they believed in Santa.

So time to take down the tree and put my little house back together. Don't get me wrong, I love Christmas....but I am so glad it is over.

Same here ,glad its over even though we love Christmas .We went after Christmas shopping today and found no deals which is good as we didnt need to spend any money anyway. We got back home and spent the rest of the day un decorating the house and getting everything put away for another year. We didnt even exchange gifts with each other this year as we dont need anything and we need to be ready to pay for the truck when and if it ever comes home from the bodyshop.

Happy New Year everyone.

Same here flash. We didn't exchange gifts. If we need it, we budget for it and then go buy it. Didn't need anymore "crap", got enough of that.

For whatever reason, it just didn't feel like Christmas this year. All of you that live in the north like me are use to a somewhat white Christmas, not this year. Not a flake to be seen anywhere, heck, the grass is still green from all the rain and warmer temps.

It was a blast to watch our boys (6 and 9) to open their gifts and be all pumped up before Christmas came. Now we have a week off to watch them play and for me to watch College football bowl games!

I agree this year did not feel like Christmas here. Just to busy I guess and all the kids are gone now. Wife and I exchanged a couple of gift but not until late afternoon on Christmas.

We were surrounded by our two kids, their spouses, and our 5 grand kids.
We had a GREAT Christmas!!

We're both off this week and after a visit tomorrow by my bro/sister-in-law which are enroute to FL from NH, my wife and I will probably head down to Montego Bay for a few days to bring in the New Years.
I love the Holiday Season!!

It's not that I don't like the holiday season Bill. Like Mike said, we didn't have snow or even ice this year. We are so used to a "White" or at least bone chilling cold Christmas, and this year it was in the upper 30's maybe even 40 degrees. And for me, the older kids were gone, except Lacie who dropped in for an hour on Christmas then headed back to New York.

Just was missing something this year.

We did not have any snow either here in Boise. It's always hit and miss anyway when it comes to the white stuff.
Did not buy each other gifts either. Just sunk $3,000 into a rather large Tuff Shed and so we figured that would be our Christmas! Kids are in their 20's and no grandkids so we just went to dinner at a friends. Awesome prime rib!
Happy New year all!

Besides, the TRUE meaning of CHRISTmas has taken a back seat to commercial enterprise and retail sales.
