Been in the upper 80's low 90's here going on 3 weeks now. Plenty of humidity too. We have never had the house closed up with the AC on for this long before. Hate to see the electric bill when it shows up.

My wife cannot take the heat with her diabetes, and I hate the A/C. She sleeps in another room when it's hot, because I like the windows open when I sleep. Our electric bill for June was over $200.

I hate the heat !!

Just spent the last 5 hours outside with the kids Middle School Robotics team, doing a car wash. But I came prepared.

1. Canopy 12' x 12'
2. Cooler full of ice and beverages
3. Folding chairs
4. Sun screen

Many of the parents dropped their kids off with NOTHING to drink, in 90 degree weather, for 5 hours, what the heck were they thinking?

It was kinda funny though, people would pull up to get their car washed, get out and pull up a chair under the canopy and relax while the car was getting washed by the kids. Alot of them appreciated the fact that we had that there for them. For them? Hell no I am a lazy ass and it was for me. lol. What ever it took for them to donate more money for the kids. It has been a long day already, but worth it. The kids raised just under $200.

Now I have to start thinking about going to a cruise later with Grumpy in his Jeep. A & W's driven-in sounds good.

It's 85 in Brighton, feels like 88 with humidity according to weather.com. Feels hotter than that to me and I'm sure it's warmer over where you are Nancy.

I know what you mean about some parents. I've been going through bottles of water the last few days weed-whacking and mowing grass. Lynda worked in the public schools for years. Parents would send their kids to school in the winter with a spring jacket, no gloves, no boots. They had to stand outside when the bus dropped them off then stand outside to get back on the bus. Oh well, we all know the majority of the human race are idiots.

It was at least upper 80's with a bit of humidity. We push our kids to always take their water bottles with them, cause you never know when you are gonna be in a situation where you, or even someone else needs water desperately. Just recently I saw a man in a wheel chair who had an ambulance called for him by someone passing by, the man was slumped over in his chair. I am always checking on people cause it just takes a few minutes for someone to have a heat stroke.

It's amazing, no matter how old some people are they still have no common sense. We went on a cruise that stopped in Jamaica. We climbed up a waterfall on slippery rocks, they wouldn't even let you do that in this country because of the liability. There was a 70+ year old man climbing with us that had open heart surgery a few weeks before? The scares on his chest were still pink. We and another man stayed close and helped him through the tough spots. The rest of his family was off shopping, guess they were hoping for a big inheritance.
