Default Its Sunday @ 4:30 AM *yawn*

..... guess I will drive 100 miles south the the car swap meet and try to find that deal of the century that always seems to elude me. Damn, sometimes this addiction really cuts into life!

So whats the best car deal others have found at a swapmeet/flea market?

I'll go first ...... I really have to give it some thought but one of the better deals was a 5 gallon empty paint bucket the was filled over the top with 1959 Chevrolet "Guide" light lenses and bezels ...
"... five dollars for the whole bucket but you have to take it all"!

This must be one heck of a swap meet to get up at 4:30am, I also noticed that you didn't post where you were going, was that to keep the rest of us away from the "deal of the century" ?

Good Luck Rank. Hope you find that deal today.

Best deals are always under the tables. I found a NOS top plate for my 4 speed console, never been on a car , nice wiper motor that has since been restored all for pennies on the dollar because I was willing to look through a few boxes.

Welp I scored .... guess what I ended up with? A .. (drumroll here) .. box of .... of ..... of ... you guessed it, 59 Chevy tail light lenses and bezels .... the only difference is these are the rarer Nomad lenses with the chrome stripes going down the middle.

Station wagon/El Camino lenses are a split light (for the tailgate) and are rare to find and the situation of finding the Nomad type is like finding diamonds in a trailer park! (I just made that up! ) They seldom "re-pop" 59 Chevy wagon parts (I have a sedan delivery ... rarer yet!) like they do Chevelles, Mustangs, 55-57 Chevs, etc.

I hit it lucky!

Ms Grumpy, getting up at 4:30 allows me an hour to boil my oats and eat them, pick up two friends and drive 100 miles to Santa Rosa, CA and still get their before the "slackers" and "novices" make an appearance , early bird gets the worm ........ swap-meeting is a serious act of devotion! LOL
