If you do replace gasket, clean / clean / clean. Then coat both sides of gasket and let it sit 24 hrs after tightening down manifold. Make SURE you use a sealer that's gasoline resistant. I've had good luck with Permatex "High Tack" on the sides, and "Right Stuff" on the front/rear.
