I have a '71 and i was looking at the interior panels and saw that they do not line up. The door panel sits about 1/2-3/4 farther outward than the panel in the back. As far as I can tell the seal is good and it "sits" where it's supposed to. I am thinking I might possibly have the wrong doors on there. I say this because on the outside(I know exterior thread would be better for this part) the gap between the door and the fender is not even, then the fender and fender extensions are quite literally crammed up against each other. I wonder if the entire front end sheet metal is wrong? Any input on the exterior is appreciated my main thought right now is the interior panels.
Thanks in advance y'all! |

The door panels do sit out a little farther than the rear panels. They should butt up against the outside edge of the windlace, think that's what it's called. It's the trim strip that runs down the edge of the door jamb. If the outside of the door is pretty flush with the rear quarter there's not much else you can do. Maybe a picture of what you're talking about would help.
