I always pay with my Amex card. The 3% back is usually more than difference between cash and credit.

? The Amex card from Costco pays 3% on gas everywhere. We have the executive membership so we get another 1% on gas at Costco. If you don't have the executive membership check it out. It costs another $50 a year and you get 1% back on all Costco purchases. At the end of the year they mail you a check for the 1% savings. Take it to the service desk and if your 1% back doesn't amount to $50 they'll still hand you $50. You're savings plus the difference to make $50. If it's more than $50 then they'll give you that. Take the cash then do your shopping and pay with the card, more earnings. They have your $50 for a year but you can't really lose, not like the bank is going to pay you anything if you keep it there.

I don't pay for anything with cash, to many credit card companies that want to pay me to use their card. Mind you, I don't ever pay them interest charges because we always pay the cards off every month. As long as they're going to pay me I'll use their card.

Glad I filled or almost filled the motorhome last week. $75 on the Amex card and the pump shutoff. Then $75 on the GM card and the pump shut off. It's almost full but I'll have to stop a few times on the way to FL.

I usually fill up. If the price goes up or 10 cents a gallon that's only around 3% change in price. It's not worth it to have to make another trip to the gas station. We're in a semi rural area so going to the gas station is often out of the way. I also won't drive to a farther station to save a few cents a gallon unless it's on the way. If I save 4 cents a gallon on 20 gallons thats only 80 cents. You can easily burn up 80 cents just getting to from the farther station, especially in the pickup.

Gas has gone up another 13 cents a gallon in a week around here. Now up to $3.60 a gallon. I'm going to have to charge extra for my pickups to the clients for the extra cost. Mileage charge not enough anymore to cover the cost to run the trucks. Hard to do business with in this economy.
