Not much went right today. I got the wrong radiator from Summit, A trade deal I had worked out got pushed back until tomorrow, a car that was supposed to be done tomorrow won't be because of the wrong radiator, etc. etc, etc.

I'm having a heck of a time removing the old paint off my car. I got the whole quarter, the deck lid and filler panel done today. I'm a big believer in "one paint job per vehicle". This car had FOUR on it.

My oldest daughter came out to ask me something, and I asked her if she wanted to paint my car. She ran in and changed clothes and came back out. She did pretty darn good for her first time. She's a natural. We talked a little about cars and such too. It was good end to an otherwise tough day. Here's the car primered with the painter in the front seat. I'm pretty dang proud of her.

I had to paint the filler panel and deck lid for her. Short stack couldn't reach it. I could barely reach it. I have the back jacked up to make it "easy" to work on. I forgot just how much trunk is back there. It goes on for while!

Nice metal work. Most guys I see out there can't fab up patch panels and opt for whole panel replacement when it isn't needed. I still believe the GM stuff from 1964 is better than the Taiwan stuff from 2011. Good to see someone with a kid that wants to get out and do stuff. My nieces and nephews are bumps on logs glued to video games and facebook.

Alan the memories that you have with your daughter are priceless. It is so cool that she was so willing to help you. Are you going to let her pick the color ?

Better yet are you going to let her drive it ,I hope so ? We need to get the younger ones interested in our hobby to carry it on.

I already decided the car will be white. I'm cloning a car I had in high school. Right now I'll say NO to letting her drive it, but who knows how I'll feel in a few years. She wants a first gen Camaro to build, so I have my eyes open for a decent project.
