Default Deconstruction Almost Complete

My 72 Chevy truck is in the final stages of destruction ,all thats left to remove is the engine and tranny .The cab is on a dolly stripped and ready for sandblasting ,the bed ,fenders, tailgates, and 2 sets of doors have been sand blasted and epoxy primed .The rolling frame with motor and trans are out back awaiting the extraction of motor and trans. The frame will then be sandblasted and painted very soon. The motor will be taken apart for a less lumpy stock 290 HP cam and all new gaskets as it leaked oil everywhere .I cant wait to see it start looking like a rust free truck again.

Final stages of "destruction"? Sounds rough! Wish I was closer to stop by and take a look at the progress

I cant wait to see new metal in the cab where all the rust used to be ,progress will be pretty quick now. I knew my patience would pay off or maybe it was the beer I took up there last week.
And Gary ,Darrell and Neil always know what I want even before I do. A few months back I told Darrell to build it however he wanted as long as it was in my budget and he said he was going to anyway .He knows me all to well and I will be very happy with it when its done. He still cant believe its going to be my daily driver work truck when its done but that is my plan. It will basically be a new 72 Chevy Fleetside Shortbed truck for a lot less than a new truck would cost and not depreciate every day I own it. I cant wait to be driving it daily and sell my 96 Ford Explorer that I bought new and have pretty much worn out .Although I cant complain about the Explorer as it has served me well with no problems all these years .I never planned on a frame off restoration for this truck ,that was Darrells idea .I told him to do it howerever he wanted as long as it was for the same money.

Ray ,I wasnt planning to go up there today so I didnt take my camera .They let us off work early today and I just went on a whim and did not expect this much this quick as I was just there last week to give them a case of beer for Christmas and it was still mostly together. I can get pics next week if someone will post them for me.

Always fun to kid around. If you get some email them to me and I would be glad to post them for you. It's fun to see what other projects look like. I did a 64 ford PU years ago frame off, hadn't plan too but it got bigger as I got into it.
