My wifes 08 Tahoe with the 5.3 tows everything fine. My old 06 Denali that I had was a beast at towing with the 6.0. Thats what I would reccomend.

If you go with an enclosed trailer, then I'd step up to a 3/4 ton. Gas mileage will suffer greatly, so then a diesel may be in order...
There are so many factors to think about, and not just what you plan on doing this year but for the next so many years. Do I want an enclosed trailer, sure. Can I afford on right now, no. So do I look for a truck that will pull the enclosed trailer because I "want one and hope to get one".

grumpy is just sitting here laughing at me while I try to decide what I want to do. And he said "Boy I bet some of the guys wished their wifes had these problems". I think some of them do.

Worst possible time to be looking for a truck or suv. I'm paying almost retail at auction.Hit craigs list every day. I've scored a few now and again from people who are desperate for cash or are about to have a repo.As far as the right vehicle,a Ram 1500 should work just fine. Me and Linds trailered the black car 400 miles with a 4.7 Ram and didn't even know the sumabitch was back there.

We have the North American Auto Show here right now. Usually after the auto show there is an influx of used Trucks.

I still have to sell my Toyota, which is 4 yrs old and has 30,000 miles, most of them highway. I just put gas in it yesterday, first time since the beginning of December.
