Default Back seat for 68 malibu

I need a back seat for my 68 Malibu. I am pretty sure the 68-72 a body ones will work. What about 68-72 a body 4 door models? Also, will 65-67 ones work? Thanks.

The answer is NO. The seat is wider on '68-'69's than on '70-'72's. On '70-'72's the seat is narrower because of the side armrests being moulded into one piece that goes all the way down to the car's floor, and the seat backs have a spacer on each side to make them the same width as the bottom seat. By comparison, the seats on '68-'69's go all the way to the "door panel" (which is more flat) with a smaller armrest which is screwed through the panel, in the same manner as the armrests on the front doors and to make it more complicated- the BOP cars 68-69 had interior options that gave them the possibility of a wider OR a narrower rear seat... and the narrower rear seat was still wider than the convertible rear seats, which were the narrowest. No sure on a 4 door.

Do you need a rear seat bottom for a 4dr. I am putting together a 1966 Coup and it came with a 4dr rear bottom. I have already picked up a GTO a body rear bottom. Here is my e-mail and I can send you measurements. [email protected]
