Default A gift I made

My brother-in-law contracted me to make this for his cousin. Apparently there's a story behind the "Chevenhauser". I just painted it how it said. This was freehand painted with no template or vinyl graphics. It's 2'x4' on a steel sign blank. I think it turned out decent.

It got a little bleached out in the sun, here's a shot to better see the colors.

From what I understand, a friend that grew up with Tony loved those old sixes as well. He came up with "Chevenhauser" because he thought it sounded tougher and more industrial than Chevy. Tony loved the word and started using it. There may be more to it, but that's what I know.

Just a guess, but he may have been referring to a Chevy engine equipped with Offenhauser speed parts???

Derek. That may have been where he got the idea for the word. I can't say for sure, but I know every blue flame or stove bolt six was a Chevenhauser.

Since Tiff opened her present, I can show you guys. This is a candle holder I made her to go in the fireplace. You can see the fireplace was poorly patched after a flu fire before we moved in. At least now we can use it.

The shop has been slow, so I didn't have much money. I was digging through my scrap steel to see what I could make her and this is what I came up with. She said she liked it.
