Default Hello Everyone

Hey Everyone

I just registered here for a few different reasons. I am not a current Chevelle owner, but I am a previous Chevelle owner. Unfortunately I had to let my baby go 4 years go due to a financial hardship, but I am coming back in the scene again hopefully soon. I had a 72 Malibu, numbers matching. She was my pride and joy!

About me: I am 26, I serve in the Army right now as a recruiter up in the NY area. I currently drive a 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X, fun turbocharged 2.0, currently running on e85 fuel, making 385whp. I am a part of an Evo forum, and actually moderate it as well, so I am very familiar with Vbulletin and how the forums work.

I am currently searching for another Chevelle to take care of. I am glad to be here, and hope to learn a few new things being here!

Josh

Welcome Josh.
First off let me say Thank You for your service to this country. I am a '72 Malibu owner. I have owned mine for over 15 yrs and there was a time I considered selling mine too. I am sure that you will find another Chevelle, and I think that there are a few members here who may be able to help you and steer you in the right direction.

Here is a pic from last years NOCC Chevelle Show. It is a row of '72s just for you. Mine is the black one with the silver stripe on the side.

I was a Sapper in the Army before I got hurt and they wouldn't let me play anymore. I was with A Co. 4/10th Mountain.

Welcome to the site from another grunt with a Chevelle bug!

So Josh what kind of Chevelle are you looking for this time ? Will it be another 72 or a different year in particular ?

Welcome Josh to the site. Thank you for your service. Good luck on your search. I'm a 70 owner, but also like the 71 and 72 models.

I am trying to stick between a 71-72. I honestly think I just want to get one and hold on to it for a little bit before I start any major work to it. I dont want to spend 25K on a restored one, I want to do the restoring!

I will never find another deal like I did when I first bought my chevelle. $3,500 perfectly running 350 with hooker headers, and a few other goodies. I drove it for over 2 years before I had to put any money into it besides the oil changes etc.

I will have to juggle my current car and its modifications vs when I start the chevelle project.

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone!

Very nice car Mike. So what are your plans for your car ? Are you going to build it to drive or to Drag race ?
