I know i dont need a whole lot to get it road worthy. But for some reason i want to get this car to this show. I made a WTB thread (http://chevelleforum.org/showthread....5842#post45842)
and i wanted to see what you guys think? can i do it? I was even thinking about cheating and putting a switch to just flip it to give the ignition power with a starter button and call it aday..lol so i ask am i crazy?

It is always good to have a goal. It made me work harder to get mine finished for a show last year. I did miss a few goals along the way, but never give up.

You can fill that list real fast if you have the money. If you're trying to fill it with used parts that will take longer. Can you leave a few things off just to get it running? Horns, a lot of horns on 44 year old cars don't work. Inner fenders, do you have old ones to work with until you can get better ones? Gas cap, any auto parts for a few bucks. Wiper motor and arms, lot of old cars run without them or if they have them they don't work.
You can do it if you're willing to bypass a few items just to get it on the road. I think I have a license plate/gas filler door for a 70. You do the homework and see if a 70 plate holder fits a 69. I'll look around and see if I still have it. If I do it's yours for shipping. EDIT: Found the plate holder, let me know if you can use. Last edited by Hank70SS; 06-16-2013 at 04:41 PM. |

Are you crazy ? Probably, but aren't we all ? We have taken the time and money and put it into vehicles that are 40+ years old. We have invested more money than we ever will get out of them.....but.....we also have something that makes heads turn as we drive down the road. We have pride in knowing that we set a goal to get our cars on the road, and even with many detours, we did it.
It will happen. It will be frustrating at times. But it will be SO worth it. Take it one step at a time.

Just getting it on the road is a great goal. And just being able to drive it down the road will be cool.

Not crazy...
A good friend of mine just drove his '70 Malibu project around the block last Saturday. It doesn't have a front end except for the radiator support and no interior.
