Default Diecast "replica" of my car

I don't know if he is going to post photos on TC but wanted to share a project that I have been....funding and supplying parts toward....

Anyway, I noticed a post on TC a few months back about a die-cast that was created for a guys uncle to replicate his actual car. Well I contacted him to see if he had any interest in doing something similar for my car, not expecting much interest but fortunately he was willing!

I purchased a used Lane die-cast on eBay along with some special ordered Forest Green paint in color/clear from Automotive touch up.

This thing just shipped this morning but from the photos, I am super excited!! I am not an avid die-cast collector but do have a couple higher-end Chevelle models (Franklin Mint, Lane, etc.) I knew there would likely never be a model that closely resembled my car so I jumped at the opportunity to have Kevin make me one!!

Without further adieu, pictures of the project!

This is what I purchased to start the project

Which was quickly sacrificed for the better good!

That is a cool project, I would love to have one of my car like that. None of the diecast have white interior with my color of car like I have. Very cool.

Thumbs up

Wow, I want one! How does one go about contacting this guy?

Shaun, they do make them bigger than hot wheels. I have a 1:18 scale 1969 COPO Chevelle.

I asked him if he would be interested in making more, actually suggested he start a small side-business, but he said that mine just happened to fall perfectly in line with another project he did for his uncle. As was the case, he had plenty of spare parts that he was able to use in making my car. Unfortunately, while he said he enjoyed making it, he does not want to make any others. I can only imagine it consumes a great deal of time and I think his wife might kill him if he takes on another.

I'll send you the link on TC and you are welcome to reach out to him if you would like but wanted to make that disclaimer first.
