Wow it is a pain to try getting a key cut if you already got the blank. I got extra GM type key blanks. I want extra keys made for the car so I don't have just one set. Some places flat refuse to do it unless they sell you the blank.
So let me get this straight. I can only have a key made if you use the wrong key to a 70's model. NEXT.
Anyway I found a place that will do it with a disclaimer. They won't guarantee it will work. I said so the only place in town that will do it. And your telling me you suck at cutting keys. The guy laughed. He said no we have to say that because if something does go wrong they can't replace the blank.
So tomorrow I letting the butchers loose with my new blanks. I got a bunch I told him surely he can get 2 to work.

I didn't have any problems with mine. I went to a locksmith and they may have charged me more than the local hardware store, but they have machines that are more accurate. The problem sometimes is that the older keys are worn from years of wear.

I saw both you and Joan at the Wendy's cruise-in today but was stopped by a friend before I could say hey. I looked for either your truck or car but never saw either after, guess you guys escaped.

Eric ,sorry we missed each other ,the truck was parked above Wendy's as we could not find a spot inside to park. We were a bit late due to an issue with a radiator cap malfunction and running hot .We didnt stay long as I wanted to get to a parts store on the way home and try to avoid Barret Pky traffic.
