Well it's looking like I may need some of those holley books. I let me buddy I borrowed the holley off of, take my carb and put it on his truck to see if it'd run and he said it run perfect with no issue at all. So now I need to figure out why it works on his motor and not mine.

Not all carb base gaskets are compatable with edelbrock performer manifold. And you could have a small vacuum leak at that point. Also some crap could have stuck the needle and seat open and it was dislodged when your budy used the carb. |

I'm using edelbrock RPM manifold and performer 1604 carb. I've heard the Holley won't seal on some of the edelbrock manifolds. I'm going to put a vacuum gauge on it when I get the carb back.

Well I've been under car for the last 4 hours and have got a lot of the undercoating taken off. I've got a huge pile on the floor and when I walked into the house me wife busted out laughing because I had that stuff ALL over me. I've got quite a bit more to to but it's looking a lot better. Hopefully in the next day or two I can get it finished up.
I've got the majority of it off from the rear seats back and a quite a bit from under the drivers side. ![]() ![]() Here's the pile I have so far. It don't look like much but I'd say when it's all off the car will shed about 20-30 lbs of crap.

No, it's not been any fun at all. Nah, I'm just going to paint it black.
Carpoor, you're exactly right! Before I bought it, it had been sitting outside luckily on a concrete pad since 1989. I'm thankful that stuff was on there or I would've been replacing the whole floor. Thankfully there was only one small spot on the driver floorboard that needed fixed. I've been kinda torn wondering if I should leave what's left on there since I'm not really making a show car, I live on a gravel road, it will act as a sound deadener, plus who's really going to be looking under it anyway. On the other hand the car will most likely never see the conditions that it's seen before, it will look better and not hold dirt in the pores of the undercoating. I dunno what I'm going to do. It's been a huge pain try to take it off.

Woke up this morning not being able to walk because I somehow through my left hip outta place yesterday evening
but got straightened out this morning and feeling 100% better. So I was able to get the two halves to make a whole this evening. It starting to actually look like a car again. I used two engine cranes to lower the body down on the frame. Which was kinda a pain to get everything lined up by myself just took some patience. Here are a few pictures of the floor and the car back down on the frame. ![]() ![]() ![]()
