Default Garage Door opener

So my neighbors garage door opener goes out and she has a new one installed today. Wife calls and says our door has been opening and closing on its own. The new linear garage door openers uses the same frequency as my old Sears opener. I can't change the frequency on mine so I guess I'm buying new opener. It not a code issue. Mine is to old so it doesn't have an opinion. For now I have to shut off the power to mine when I'm not here or at night. Been wanting to install new doors so I guess I will do both at the same time.

Mine did that. Try oiling the electric motor. And blowing the circuit board off. I sprayed circuit cleaner on it and used compressed air and blew it off.

Mine had paint overspray and dust on it. Believe it or not it solved it for mine.

I had 2 old Sears openers, 1 crapped out last year and I had to replace it. I installed a Genie, hooked right up to the brackets in the ceiling and the rail mounted to the old bracket on the wall above the door. I like it a lot better than the old, starts moving at a slow speed then speeds up. Drops back to slow speed before it's fully closed or open. Lot less stress on everything. Our old ones both had a set of dip switches to change the code but if it's a frequency issue not much you can do about that.

No dip switches on the one I have. The installer gave me the old panel off the neighbors which has the dip switches from her old Sears unit. Might be able to switch the panel on mine, but mine is not code anymore and been in since 1992. I think it's time to replace. I replaced all the gears about 5 years ago to keep mine going.

I put a shaft mounted unit on one of my doors and when the other on goes I will do the same. It's quiet and starts out slow and then speeds up and slows done at end.
