Default My new project!

I picked up my next project. 1964 GTO. I've got the complete car minus the rear seat.

That'll keep you busy for awhile. Really isn't that bad looking. Good luck and keep us posted on the resto. Guessing a 389 tri-power, not real familiar with Pontiacs. I suppose you'll have to buy a stuffed tiger now, sit it on the roof when you go to a car show. At least a tiger tail hanging out of the trunk.

What a great looking car. This one will be fun. I should have it done by this time next year.

Here is my 1964 GTO in 1972, it was Kentucky car that I brought up to Michigan. I have feelers out for it as I still have the VIN number and would love to have this car back.

Rattler, are there any car show out there next week (17th -21st )? I will be out there visiting my son and would like to see what the Phoenix car scene is like.

Hey Ric, This site here lists most of the local events. It doesn't look like too many during that week being so close to Christmas.
http://www.cruisinarizona.com/carshows.html

There are several cruise nights throughout the valley though. I'm sure you could catch one or two of them. Our club is located out in East Mesa and our gathering night is every Friday night in the Bash's parking lot on Signal Butte and Main from about 4pm to 7pm. Usually well over a hundred cars there.

Another really busy one would be at the Scottsdale Pavillions on a Saturday night. Here's the info on it.

Scottsdale:

Rock and Roll Car and Bike Show at McDonald's in the Scottsdale Pavilions Shopping Center 9140 East Indian Bend Road is the longest consecutive Saturday cruise in the nation. Come out at 4:30;pm and enjoy classic cars and motorcycles, free of charge. If you'd like to display, try to get there before 4pm. Enjoy our DJ's tunes and grab dinner or desert at our McDonald's restaurant. Don't forget to visit the stores in the Scottsdale Pavilions shopping center! Hi Rattler,

Thanks for the information, I heard about the Scottsdale Pavilions from my boss who lived in Chandler and said that is where to go. We are staying up in Carefree / Cave Creek area so the Scottsdale one is pretty close. If we get a chance I'll head down to Mesa on Friday night and if I see your Chevelle I will stop in and say hi. This is a short trip for us but we are out there 3 -4 times a year and plan on buying a home for the winter there in the next couple years.

I'm sure you have heard of the TRW plants in Mesa and I have co-workers that have transferred there and have been in there a couple times in the last 10 years.
