Default Update on my 72

Grumpy just talked to my brother and.....drum roll please.......

they started the motor today.

This may not seem like a big deal to some. But I am so geeked. If has been a year since I heard the motor running.

But with the good, comes the bad. Of course hind sight is 20/20. We should have bought some parts way back when we could afford to, and now we are kicking ourself in the behind for not doing it. We will figure it out.

We are moving forward, and the car is looking good.

Nancy

I know, I know. The last pics were not the best, that's why we didn't post them. You have to realize it is almost an hour drive each way, from my house to where the car is. I would be there almost every other day if it were closer.

It's always nice to here the motor come back to life. It give you the feeling that you are almost done. It's been over four years since I heard my motor roar. I agree we are all sitting on the edge of our chairs wating for those pictures.

It's take one step forward, two steps back. I used to look forward to texts from my brother. But now I flinch, cause I know it's one more thing that is gonna set us back. Had to order a part that won't be in for 3 days, which probably means early next week.

I know that he wants this done as much as I do. I know the day will come, we all just wish it was sooner than later.

My restoration project has been one step forward and 3 steps backward. I know the feeling all to well. You will make it through it and it all will be a distance memory. You will have a car that you will be proud of.

Thanks guys. I got another text from my brother this evening. Except this one was telling me that Detroit Dragway is having a reunion at Milan Dragway May 23rd. Now I started drag racing at Detroit Dragway and they are going to have some of the old track people out there.

My brother also asked me if I wanted to take the Chevelle out there. I said yes !! I also had told him at the beginning of the build that when the car was done that I would let him take the car to the track. He was thrilled. I know many people may not agree with me. But this is my brother and they don't know how much I trust him. And I know that he would love to do this, especially with all of the time and effort he has put into it.

So..I know I will get some ney sayers..but this is me.
