I'm sorry, at that time we were sure the sweep would be the right answer. We are in the process of restoring the sweep you sent us. Looks like were going to use the Covan insert to clean things up. Will take pics when its all done.

Here is a Monte dash, $500 with harness. It's still in the car and looks like it's in good shape.

My brother in law went out to look at this today. The wood grains just not my thing. The same guy did have a 71 chevelle SS dash. What puzzles me is I thought all SS dash came with a tach. This one had the gas gauge where the tach should of been.

Now I'm no Chevelle expert much less SS but is this correct ?

Tach, water temp, and ammeter gauge package were an option. SS dash had the round pods but not the gauges. That's the conversion kit I'm putting in my dash to add those gauges. The Monte dash is ok, not sure if you remove the wood grain then paint it or paint over it but a lot people put them in Chevelles.

Here the dash so far and the gauge cluster. Need to do the silver outlining on the dash, polish the lens and reattach.
