Default What color is this Chevelle?

Hi Folks. I'm new to the forum and have just tentatively bought a 1971 Chevelle SS clone. I will be seeing it in person and hopefully closing the deal within the next few days.

I'm hoping someone can tell me what the actual color is. The car looks almost exactly like the one that is pictured at the top of the forums page. Pictures of the car I'm buying are attached.

Thanks in advance for any input.

Thanks so much for the quick reply...Those are the 2 colors I had narrowed it down to also. I guess I'll know for sure when I see the car in person.

Welcome to the site 72. Do you have a 72 now? Tell us about yourself and your car.

I actually don't have a '72 Chevelle, but that has always been my dream car. I just recently sold my '72 Monte Carlo and have been searching for a '71-'72 Chevelle with buckets/console/gauge package (very hard to find a nice one at a fair price).
I found a very nice '71 Chevelle SS Clone on eBay that is just south of where I live, so I did a "buy it now", but haven't seen it in person...If it's what the pictures show and in the condition it appears to be, it's mine...If it's not what it appears to be, I'm not out a single penny and my search will continue.

How do I change my user name to "71 Chevelle SS"?

Thanks for the warm welcomes - I hope to be on this forum quite often...

Dave,

If you could change my user name to: 71 Chevelle SS, I would greatly appreciate it...Here is the link to the eBay item:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...K%3AMEWNX%3AIT

It doesn't show much more info than I've already listed on this thread, but it appears to be a nicely done SS clone. They guy must be out of town for the holiday, because I haven't heard from him since the auction ended

Like I said, if the car is not worth $13,500 when I see it, I'll walk away...He also had it listed on Craigslist for $14,000.

What is your honest opinion on it's value? A real SS would cost twice that much and a 71 Chevelle Malibu (non SS) is valued right around $12k-$15K from the research I've done...I have done searches for dozens of 71-72 Chevelles, but none of them have the SS stripes/SS badges/buckets/console/gauge package, and none are nice SS clones at that price...Please tell me what you think. Thanks!!
