Default Noobie from WI

Hi, I am new to the site. I am from Janesville, WI. I belong to a couple other sites and decided to join here also.

I have a '69 Chevelle SS396 300 Deluxe Post Sedan that is currently 1 of 36 in Dan Vasic's registry. It currently has a CE 402 that's been in the car since before 1975, Muncie M22W and a 3.73 12 bolt.

Here are some pics.....

Fresh motor this year.

Here is a picture from the 2010 MCACN Show in Chicago.

Welcome and very nice looking car. I didn't realize the 300 still had the wing window in them. Most people like the 69 malibu because it didn't have it. Very cool car.

Thanks guys....Yea, the funny part about the whole Post Sedan is I had just sold a '68 Nova and didn't really want the post or the wing.

Here is a picture of the car at Byron Dragway in Byron, IL.

Welcome. Nice car, don't see too many post sedans. I like the old style mag wheels.

Awesome car! The '69 SS post cars are the coolest Chevelles ever.

I really dig the mismatched wheel / vintage drag race look in your MCACN picture!

I also really applaud you for racing such a rare car the way it was meant to be abused.

I have history on the car that dates back to 1975 where a guy named Robert Chalupa in Roselle, IL bought it from a kid who was racing it on the streets of Chicago. He told me that after the purchase he had to go back and get the hood because the kid raced it with the hood off. It appears to have been repainted once but the paint and pinstripes that are on the car now are the same as when Robert purchased it.

Robert raced the car at Great Lakes Dragaway in Union Grove, WI every weekend for many years in the 70's and 80's. He owned the car for 24 years. Nothing is original on the drivetrain but as stated before but the CE block has been in it since before Robert bought it. I believe this could be the warranty block for the car but I have no proof.

It currently has 41,000 miles on the car and all retains all it's original body panels. The door jams and the bottom of the trunk also retains it's original paint.

When I purchased it from Dan Vasic in 2009 I told him I would keep it a "Day 2" or "Weekend Warrior" car since that's the was the car has been for many years. I do drive it around town and small trips but I plan on putting in some taller gear (4.10 or 4.56) to get my times down at the strip. My best time so far is 12.91@108 but from what I have been learning is that MPH is easily a low to mid 12 second car. I do have a extra 12 bolt with 3.07 gears which I would switch to if I was planning a farther trip.
