Default Accident at 2011 Autorama

I was trying to find a link to the local news report but here is what I do know.

On Thursday afternoon/evening a Pro-Stock S-10, was leaving the check-in area, and went sideways, taking out most of the check-in areas tables. It also hit at least one bystander who was injured and had to be transported to the hospital by paramedics.

The S-10 then proceeded to broadside the General Lee clone. It pushed the General Lee sideways almost a foot.

It was not a pretty site with lots of damage. The S-10 destroyed it's front clip, windshield, and one side of the General Lee clone is damaged fender to quarter.

I saw that on the news last night. The General Lee should be a lot faster now, looks like it dropped a few hundred pounds of Bondo where it got crunched..

I saw that car last night at the show setup. I heard the owners of the S10 was even having all kinds of problems even unloading it from the enclosed trailer. I even seen some tire tracks (burnt rubber) right next to the General Lee car.

On another note, this years show looks like it will be much better than last.

Mike

I heard it was someone working on the General Lee. All they said was he was taken to the hospital with some type of chest pains. From being hit or a heart attack, they didn't know at that time.

What was the cause? Was the S10 guy being stupid and lose control, or was it something mechanical?

From what it sounds like it might have been mechanical. From the reports I heard, they said that it sounded like the guy in the S-10 was "gunning" it. But like Mike said, they were having problems even before they got it off the trailer.
