Default Is it a hoax or not ?

So I was reading the local cruise magazine, Cruis'news, and I came across an article about a tax that is going to be levied on collector cars. Apparently a Senator from New York, Charles Schumar is drafting a bill that would put at least a 10% tax (over and above any state taxes) on any collector, antique, hot rod, special interest, and race cars. In his statement he said that the people that own these cars, "all of whom are rich-begin to pay their fair share". He must know something that I don't know, because I know that I am not rich, are you?

So I did some research and found many articles stating that it was a hoax.

I am posting a link to one of the articles that I found. Have you heard about this and what do you think ?

I would have to say thats purely a hoax. I have heard things similar to this being considered in certain states over the years though. I'm definitely not rich either! If I was i would have a shop like Jay Leno! lol

It was an April Fool's joke in the Shelby club's newsletter that grew legs and went "viral" when people posted it around the net thinking it was real...

I wrote to the magazine that posted this article. No where in the article did it state that this was a hoax. At the end of the article it gave the New York Senators e-mail address as well as the Michigan Senators e-mail addresses. It asked that you contact them and let them know how you felt. I wonder how many people actually sent e-mails. I just hope that they print a retraction next month. We will see.
