will a 69 camaro shifter work?
i have a friend with a 69 camaro and he has an extra shifter that he was going to give me. i am just not sure if it will work. Does anyone know if a 69 auto shifter from a camaro will work in my 69 chevelle?

Is it a horseshoe shifter? If my memory is correct the auto shifter in a Camaro is a single handle that fits in a differient looking console. I'm also assuming we are talking about a stock GM shifter.

its a horseshoe shifter it looks like the one for the chevelle but i looked up some pictures and i see a difference in the mounting

To answer your question after talking with a buddy, no. The Camaro is smaller at the base and does not have the jog in it for the change in the floor pan like the Chevelle has. Also the bottom helps to hold the console in the chevelle. The top handle is the same.
