Default End of ACES

Lets all send Chuck a note and thank him for all the good years we had with Aces Chevelle Club. Really hate to see it go.

Not to kick someone when they are down, but Chuck's style of running ACES and Chevellabration offended many Chevelle owners over the years. Not that it's the only reason for the death of ACES, but it's one fact. I was a member for many years and saw for myself how some were mistreated at the show and when you're made to feel unwelcome you and your friends don't go back. I finally ended my membership and knew then that it was only a matter of time that this would happen.

Now I truly regret not going to Chevelle-abration this year.

My only hope is that someone will pick up where this leaves off. I'd love to see a show at a place like PBIR... room for a car show + a dragstrip and road course on site. I know there are other places like PBIR scattered around the United States.

I was surprised to hear this, and I am still waiting on my December issue so that I can read about it.

I know that for the past year Chuck was looking for someone to take over the helm. I thought that he had found the perfect guy, I guess not.

flash, I know that you and Chuck are friends. This must be a tough time for you as you hear all the speculation from people. I am sure that things were told to you in confidence and knowing you, you would never disclose that information. But for the rest of us, we have a lot of questions. Maybe someday we will have a lot of them answered. But for now, there will be a big gaping hole that hopefully someone will be able to fill.

Yes Chuck and I are friends but he didnt share this with us as we read it on Bill's post .That was our first news of it and we are broken hearted but the memories we have are priceless. Im sure this was one of the hardest decisions Chuck has ever had to make but I did know he was losing money on the show for several years but he thought it was going to turn around . We are going to miss Chevellabration more than anything weve ever been involved with ,we dont know how we will fill that void.

I wish that we, grumpy and I, could have really had a heart to heart with Chuck. We tried to help him with using the internet, suggesting our webmaster who has worked with some of the largest automotive companies in building successful websites. But there never was time, actually after being at the last Chevellabration I, like many of us, thought that Chuck had found his successor.

As many of us know, Social Media has become a huge part of our culture today. We surf the web to find car parts, answers to questions and like me, local and national car shows. And, if you think of the owners of many of the classic and collector cars out there, they tend to be older men and woman. I can't tell you the amount of car shows that I have gone to and tried to build membership to this site, and I talk to the car owners and many of them don't know how to, or are not comfortable, surfing the web. They may have an e-mail account but that is the extent of their internet experience.

I am sad to hear that Chevellabration has ended because I had just found it 3 years ago. I am one of the lucky ones because I can say that I have been to 2 of them. I hope that another car club or website will start another show to continue on such a great tradition.
