Default Howdy

About Me. Disabled Veteran, USAF, 22 Years, 8 months. Currently live in two places, Texas and Oklahoma. Haven't been able to sell the house I bought in OK so move between the two to keep my Texas residence.

My Car-- 1971 Chevelle Malibu. Bought the body, a motor and trans for $900. It is going to need some work for sure. Currently looking for an early 70s 454 for it as the engine I got was only a 350. Body was pretty rust free but has damage in serveral areas so will be replacing rear quarters, both sides, door panels, and front fenders. I haven't decided yet on the trans, either a 6-speed tremac (around $5500 for the kit from summit) or a 6-speed 4L80E build ($7000 from summit, guess it really should be called a 6L80E). I also need to find a 12 Bolt rear-end for it. Planning 3.08s with locker. Engine build is going to focus on Low-midrange torque and let the gearing take the load. Currently, I estimate $20K-30K over 5-7 years to complete the car.
