Hello,
I am looking to buy a 1966 to 1971 Chevelle and I need your help on the numbers and codes this seller has sent me on a 1969 Chevelle SS Red 396, 350HP engine. Trim code 755. Is that Black Fabric? It has black vinyl buckets, 4 speed 40 B PNT Is that Butternut Yellow with a Black vinyl top? The car is painted red including the top. Engine number 11Y103306 Not sure about the 10 after Y. Very difficult to read off the picture he sent me. I can't find any similar numbers relating to a 396 in my searches on the net. Hope to be an owner/member of the forum soon. Thanks for your help. Hi Daryl. Welcome aboard. That engine number does't appear to be from a 69 Chevelle.
Here is a link to a great web-site for you to have a look at. Spend a little time there and you will learn a bunch about these cars.http://www.chevellestuff.com/1969/tags.htm Good luck in your search for one. |

That looks like a 71 engine from Wilmington, Delaware assembly plant.
11Y103306 1 - Chevrolet 1 - !971 Y - Wilmington Delaware 103306 - Assembly plant seq #, partial VIN |

You can also go to the "Restoration by the numbers" forum on here and go to the second page and there are some threads that give you how to read the numbers on some of the years.
