Default Exhaust size and Summit mufflers?

OK so i went to bolt in my exhaust and its WAY to long, i guess that is what i get for buying an exhaust for an Elky so i am shopping around for a new exhaust and i was talking to my local chevelle expert and he told me for my power levels 2.25 is perfect for me. being that over the years i want to build another motor once i get this one done should i get the 2.25 inch exhaust or look at something bigger?

Also has anyone had any luck with summit exhaust systems? how do they sound? If i get a new exhaust for the price the summit exhaust seems to be the way to go

2.5" is generally the preferred pipe size on a mild performance build.
And I'm sure the Elky system could be made to fit...engine thru mufflers should be the same, only the tails are long, I believe, and could be altered.

I've run the Summit/Jegs 2.5" & 3" systems. They all needed some adjustment, but fit well overall. Supposedly Pypes fits really well, no personal experience though.

I would go with a 2.5" system, 2.25" is just too small for a big block IMHO.

Outlet on those mufflers you've shown need to be offset...not center...for the tailpipes to fit correctly on a Chevelle.

At the last Chevellabration I talked with the exhaust specialist that were there. I do agree with the guys. If you plan on building anything bigger in your motor without replacing the exhaust you should go with the 2.5", anything smaller and you will be disappointed.
